Drush version 12 is out since June 2023 and is now the new recommended version using Drupal 10. While I was upgrading to this version, I needed to adjust my $PATH for using the drush command.

Version 10 of Drupal has been released on December 15. With this major release Drupal sets a big future-proof step.

In navolging van het opzetten van een eigen Mastodon instance als alternatief voor Twitter, heb ik ook een eigen PeerTube instance opgezet voor mijn video's. PeerTube maakt net als Mastodon gebruik van het ActivityPub protocol. Je kunt dus PeerTube accounts volgen vanuit jouw Mastodon of Pixelfed account.

Als je veel foto's en video's maakt zul je misschien herkennen dat deze backup aanzienlijk groot is en dat je opslagcapaciteit vrij snel vol zit. De oplossing is dan om meer opslag te kopen bij Apple of Google. Het kan ook anders met bijvoorbeeld Immich of Nextcloud.

Heb ik je aandacht te pakken? Ik ga het namelijk niet hebben over de metaverse, want daar ben ik geen fan van. De metaverse is een wereld die momenteel wordt gekapitaliseerd door Meta en andere grote tech bedrijven. Het wordt een gesloten wereld met een paar grote centrale spelers die de rol als poortwachter, arbiter en moderator op zich zullen nemen. In deze blog wil ik je iets vertellen over de wereld van de fediverse die hier lijnrecht tegenover staat.
